---Annie's Water Ice specializes in classic frozen desserts, offering a selection that caters to traditional tastes. Their primary services revolve around providing two core products, along with a popular combination:
- Water Ice: A staple in the Pennsylvania region, water ice (often called "Italian ice" in other areas) is a non-dairy, fruit-flavored frozen dessert with a texture similar to sorbet but typically smoother. Annie's offers various flavors, providing a refreshing option, especially on hot days. Customers often appreciate the light, icy texture and vibrant fruit flavors.
- Soft Serve Ice Cream: This creamy, often lighter alternative to traditional scooped ice cream is a popular choice for many. Soft serve is known for its smooth consistency and is frequently enjoyed in cones or cups. Annie's offers this classic, providing a milky, rich contrast to their water ice.
- Gelati: A popular combination that blends water ice and soft serve ice cream, creating a layered or swirled treat. Gelati offers the best of both worlds, providing a unique texture and flavor profile that combines the refreshing fruitiness of water ice with the creamy richness of soft serve. This hybrid dessert is a favorite for those who can't decide between the two. One customer review specifically highlighted that "small gelatis are bigger than Ritas’s small gelatis," suggesting a perceived value and generous portion size.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A Tough Review to Write, But It Has to Be SaidI’ve been coming to Annie’s for over 20 years, ever since I was a kid growing up just a short walk away. This place was a staple of my summers, and I’ve always remembered it for its rich, creamy soft serve and refreshing, flavorful water ice.I finally made it back after a while, and unfortunately, something has changed, and not for the better. The soft serve now tastes like it’s been cut with cheaper ingredients. It’s icier and less creamy and reminded me more of fast food soft serve than the Annie’s I knew. The water ice was worse! It was practically flavorless and just felt like chipped ice with food coloring. Plus, the prices have gone up dramatically, accompanying this decrease in quality. It pains me to write this, especially with all the fond memories I have tied to this place. If you’re someone who’s loved Annie’s in the past, I’d honestly advise holding onto those memories instead of risking the disappointment.
May 27 · Ian KennedyMy kids loved it here because the small gelatis are bigger than Ritas’s small gelatis. The ice cream is way better too!!
July 18 · JIN WUAs an out of stater this was my first time having water ice gelati and I absolutely loved it! I had the mango x vanilla one and it was so unique and amazing. Oh and the prices are also so reasonable.
September 12 · Maksim TonyushkinImagine this - it’s Saturday, wait Sunday, and the humidity is 86%, almost the same as the temperature which is 89. It’s hot AF and you just want to cool down. Have to get some water ice, right? Wrong. Have to get THE water ice - Annie’s. Now you’re here with me, great. This is by far the best water ice in PA. The soft serve is also as smooth as it looks. Words are not going to do it justice so just go and get some.Would recommend to families, friends, future in-laws and the like. Will be back soon!
July 03 · Avery Martin-ChadwickThey have soft ice cream! Rita's is custard. Big difference.
