Blue Heron Creamery Introduce
When the craving for a sweet treat hits, residents of Connecticut know that supporting local businesses often leads to the most unique and satisfying experiences. In the heart of Hartford, there is a place that embodies this philosophy perfectly: Blue Heron Creamery. Located within the vibrant and bustling Parkville Market, this creamery has quickly become a go-to spot for those seeking high-quality, handcrafted desserts. It's more than just an ice cream shop; it's a community hub where friendly service and fantastic flavors come together to create a memorable experience for everyone who walks through the door.
Blue Heron Creamery, which started its journey as Sno ‘N’ Dough, is dedicated to providing premium, locally made ice cream and a unique twist on frozen treats with their authentic New Orleans-style sno-balls. Their commitment to using local products extends beyond the ice cream itself, as they also partner with other Connecticut businesses for things like their uniforms and dessert carriers. This deep-seated connection to the community is what makes Blue Heron Creamery stand out. The founders, Don White Jr. and Adam Pierce, who were formerly managers at Parkville Market, saw an opportunity to create a space that was not only about great desserts but also about fostering a welcoming environment where people could come together and enjoy a moment of happiness. The atmosphere they have cultivated is one of positivity and warmth, making it an ideal destination for families, friends, and solo visitors alike.
Their menu is a testament to their creativity and dedication to satisfying all kinds of sweet tooths. From classic scoops to inventive creations, there is something for everyone. They offer a diverse range of flavors and treats, ensuring that each visit can be a new adventure. One of the most popular items is their New Orleans-style sno-balls, a finely shaved ice delicacy topped with flavored syrups and other delicious additions like condensed milk and whipped cream. Customers who have tried them for the first time often rave about the unique texture and how the flavors blend together deliciously as the sno-ball slowly melts. These treats are a delightful alternative to traditional ice cream and a must-try for any dessert lover in the Hartford area.
The founders' vision to expand their brand across Connecticut speaks to their passion and success. They have a goal of being within a few minutes' drive of anyone in the state, which demonstrates their desire to share their delicious treats and positive community space with as many people as possible. With locations in Hartford and beyond, Blue Heron Creamery is becoming a staple in the Connecticut dessert scene, known for its high-quality products and unwavering commitment to exceptional service.
Located within the dynamic Parkville Market, Blue Heron Creamery's Hartford location is easily accessible for both city residents and those traveling from surrounding areas. The market itself is a destination, and the creamery's spot inside means visitors can enjoy a wide array of other food and drink options before or after their dessert. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Had a great experience today at Sno N Dough. It’s located in the Parkville Market in Hartford. Plenty of parking outside. I’ve never had a Louisiana snowball before, but plan on returning for more. I got there before they opened, but the friendly staff said they were ready to serve. I got the whole run down on how they were made and all the ingredients that go into it. I’m not a big fan of whipped cream, so I asked for a small amount. That was a mistake because it was the best whipped cream I’ve ever eaten. All the flavors mixed in very well. As it slowly melted, each ingredient was mixed together deliciously. Very positive experience and will be returning. Even grabbed some popcorn to go with my sno-ball
January 19 · Andrew IzzoOn my first visit to Parkville Market, I stopped at the newly opened Sno ‘N’ Dough to try an authentic New Orleans Sno-Ball for the first time! I tried their limited-time red dragons blood flavor which was fruity and mixed well with the sweetness of the condensed milk and whipped cream. It’s better than a snow cone, but not as heavy as ice cream. They had a great menu that I can’t wait to come back and try more of. Also, their popcorn is perfectly buttery and salty!
January 18 · Food of CTThe restaurant is located inside Parkville Market. If you're not familiar with Parkville Market, it's a market filled with numerous restaurant. Cool right. Parking is great. Pay attention for the Parkville at the entrance of the packing lot or you'll miss it! There's plenty of space but expect to park a little further during lunch and busy hours. While dining at Meltdown he owner came out and hit us with a major surprise! Sno N Dough(which was formerly opened but closed)was back! If you're not familiar with Sno N Dough they served sweet treats like snowcones and fried dough, Louisiana style. He is the owner of both. I have to say this totally made my day! I went right on down to get me one lol. They used to be opened right next door to Meltdown. Now theyre all the way at the other endcant make it to a carnival, no problem lol. Their fried dough is out of this world. So good i didnt get a pic lol. The difference between their snowcones and traditional is that theirs are topped with Sweet condensed milk. Baybeeee before you jugde, try it and i promise youll like it. Now i get it all through my snowcone! Highly recommend and would come again! So happy they're back!!!!
