★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Visited Bluebird for dessert after lunch at the Muscoot Tavern and a walk through the gardens of the John Jay house... All three were wonderful and would definitely recommend! The owner is very interesting to talk with. Ice cream and homemade cakes and desserts were so, so good. She even offers vegan options! Notes: Picnic tables available outside. Inside is currently closed. She'll take your order at the door. it was cash only on the day we went (not sure if that's always the policy.) Don't go if you're in a hurry. Part of the charm of visiting this establishment is the time taken with each customer. Everything was fabulous -- well worth the visit!
July 26 · Wendy NatterWent here with my girlfriend a few weekends ago and it was a very pleasant experience! We were in Danbury and decided to search homemade ice cream near me, then this place showed up. We got there and the owner, Barbara, was very welcoming! She talked to us and gave us a little backstory of how she started her business. My girlfriend got a scoop of the butter pecan, which she said was very good, and I got a scoop of the Dutch cookie which was also very tasty! We took home a pint of the vanilla bean and just tried some tonight. Holy moly it was amazing!🙌 My girlfriend and I both agreed this was the best tasting vanilla bean ice cream we have ever tasted. It was smooth, creamy, and just delicious. We will definitely be coming back for more! She only takes cash, but she said we could place an order online with items that equalled to two scoops, then we got the 1 pint to take home. For the one person that said this woman’s ice cream tasted like Breyers, I think you need to expand your tastebuds and understand what homemade tastes like versus crappy processed ice cream with unnatural ingredients. And for people complaining about prices, you’re paying for “homemade” ice cream. If you wanted cheap crappy ice cream, just go to the grocery store. You typically pay more for anything that is homemade. There’s more love and labor put into it versus a machine doing all of the work that’s mass producing hundreds of gallons. My girlfriend and I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be making our way back here soon. We love supporting small businesses and Barbara is such a kind hearted woman!
January 26 · Josh WHome made ice cream, the best of its kind. Flavors are mild but that's how you know they are real. Chocolate orange mandarin is the bomb
April 24 · AgathaThis little ice cream shop is the stuff of dreams! We’re talking good ol’ fashioned, delicious, homemade ice cream and waffle cones, made with love by one woman, with such fresh ingredients. Love the Dutch Cookie Delight (the speculoos flavor), the Decadence (coffee with bits of brownie), and the Grasshopper (mint ice cream with chocolate chips).Everything is refreshing and even clean tasting, since nothing is artificial. In fact, the waffle cones are so fresh here, that they fold as you get to the bottom of the cone. So crispy and light. Can’t wait to come back this summer.5 stars!!!!
May 14 · Bonnie GleicherI got taken for a pidgeon by a bluebird! 38 bucks for 2 pints, hysterical. I enjoy good ice cream, I loathe getting fleeced.
