Cookies & Cream Introduce
For families and individuals throughout Michigan, a trip to downtown Lake Orion for a sweet treat often means a visit to Cookies & Cream. This isn’t just any ice cream shop; it’s a destination that perfectly blends delicious desserts with a fantastic, family-friendly environment. As a local business with a prime location, Cookies & Cream has become a cherished spot for both residents and visitors, offering a welcoming atmosphere that encourages people to stay, relax, and enjoy their surroundings. It’s a place where a simple ice cream cone becomes part of a larger, more memorable experience, making it a true gem in the Lake Orion community.
The shop's unique appeal is largely due to its thoughtful setup and inviting vibe. As one customer noted, "This place is so adorable and wisely situated." The location is intentionally designed to be a hub of activity and relaxation. Unlike a typical ice cream parlor where you might grab and go, Cookies & Cream provides a space for people to gather and unwind. The presence of large yard games, numerous picnic tables, and a beautiful alley terrace transforms a quick stop into a leisurely afternoon outing. The fact that it is "right at the children's park and the river" makes it an ideal spot for parents to let their kids play while they enjoy a treat. This wise integration into the local landscape makes Cookies & Cream an excellent example of a business that understands the needs of its community, providing not just a product, but a full-fledged experience.
While the shop has a strong positive reputation for its ambiance, customer experiences with the product itself can vary. One customer, after living in the area for five years, expressed excitement to finally try the place. However, another review noted a "disappointing" experience regarding a "medium" swirl with sprinkles that was perceived as subpar in both size and value. It's an important point for potential visitors to consider, as it highlights a potential for inconsistency in portion sizes. On the other hand, the vast majority of public sentiment focuses on the positive aspects of the visit—the "yummy treat" and the beautiful setting that enhances the overall experience. The mention of a "coffee shop right next door" also points to the shop’s role in a bustling, interconnected downtown area, offering customers more options and making it a perfect hub for a day out. The combination of a great location and engaging features outweighs these occasional concerns for many, solidifying Cookies & Cream as a local favorite.
Cookies & Cream is ideally located at 20 Front St, Lake Orion, MI 48362. This address places it squarely in the heart of downtown Lake Orion, a charming area known for its lakeside views and community-focused atmosphere. The location is a significant part of the shop's appeal, as it is situated directly next to a public park and the Paint Creek Trail, offering a picturesque backdrop for enjoying a dessert. This prime spot makes it easily accessible for anyone in the Lake Orion area and neighboring towns.
Accessibility is one of the key strengths of this location. The review highlights "convenient parking right there," which is a major benefit for visitors. Finding parking in a downtown area can sometimes be a challenge, so having a dedicated, easy-to-access lot or street parking simplifies the trip. For families, this means less time searching for a spot and more time enjoying the treats and the scenery. For those coming from outside of Lake Orion, the location is a straightforward drive from major roads, making it a viable destination for a day trip. The proximity to the park and the river also means that visitors can make a full day of it, combining a sweet treat with some outdoor recreation, whether that’s a walk along the water or letting the kids burn off some energy at the playground.
The shop's placement on Front Street, a main thoroughfare in the downtown area, ensures that it is visible and easy to find. Its integration into the larger downtown business district, as noted by the customer who mentioned the adjacent coffee shop, makes it part of a lively and interconnected ecosystem of local businesses. This means that a visit to Cookies & Cream can be part of a larger excursion, whether it’s for shopping, dining, or simply enjoying the town's atmosphere. This excellent accessibility, combined with the scenic and family-friendly surroundings, makes Cookies & Cream an outstanding destination for people all over Michigan who are looking for a delightful experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1After living here for five years I was excited to finally try this placeWe went on Friday and paid $7.15 for this “medium” swirl with sprinkles. The cup wasn’t even half full and lasted 3 bites making each one $2+. Pathetic and subpar quality.
July 19 · Catalina HarrisThis place is so adorable and wisely situated. They have large yard games, tons of picnic tables, and a beautiful alley terrace. Plus, it's right at the children's park and the river! And, there's convenient parking right there. What a great place to relax and enjoy a yummy treat. I believe there's even a coffee shop right next door.
July 03 · Michelle BienkowskiI’ve been on the search for a great cookie place - this one is close to our house and we’ve never been. We decided to get all 4 of their cookies and a dole whip. The Dole whip was great and my wife thought it was super refreshing for a hot day. The cookies were okay - the lemon tasted like fruity pebbles which was interesting. The double chocolate was pretty good but the chocolate chip wasn’t what I was hoping for (maybe some people like the baby chips in there). Everyone liked the peanut butter since it reminded them of the ones everyone makes at home (nostalgic). Overall we”d come back for the dole whip but will probably not go for the cookies. The search continues…
June 16 · Tim RoseThis place has so many selections. It's absolutely amazing. Very good service. The setting is in a park plus they have outside games set up for the kiddies. It's a great time.
June 17 · savana bellowsSaturday night we ventured out with friends to Cookies and Cream by Sprout Bake under WEE BEAN and 20 Front Street and glad we did, seeing that they are open for 8 more days till they close and reopen next April. They serve all kinds of goodies, including premium and vegan ice cream, ice cream bars, x-treme shakes and made-from-scratch cookies. Some of their items have no artificial colors or flavors and no high fructose corn syrup. We purchased the following scoop and a half of:- Michigan Pothole- Salted Mocha Caramel Chip😋- Vanilla Shake- Vanilla Chocolate ChipDon't forget to leave a nice tip, our server did a great job and even brought our order to us on a tray.Outdoor games include Cornhole, giant Connect Four along with sidewalk chalk. Plus Children's Park is directly across the bridge.Cornhole is fun, however the adults that were playing were a little loud. From June through August there is not only free live music every Friday from 7-8 pm on their outdoor stage but kids night on Tuesdays6:30-8:00.And if you arrived by bike, there a bike repair station close by along with chairs and picnic tables to relax.
