The overall tone is one of appreciation for a business that has become a cherished part of the summer ritual for families and friends in the Manistee region.
The Manistee Dairy Queen is a "Treat" location, meaning its primary focus is on the classic dessert items that have made the brand famous. As a seasonal establishment, its opening and closing each year are significant events that residents eagerly anticipate. This limited operating season, while a point of longing for those who wish it were open all year, also adds to its charm and special status. It's a place that many people associate with summer vacations, trips to the beach, and the simple pleasures of the warmer months. The menu is a tribute to all things sweet and cold, centered around their signature soft-serve ice cream. From the simple, perfect vanilla cone to the rich and decadent Blizzard, there is something for every taste. The quality of the treats and the speed of service are often praised by customers, with one local mentioning that you "can't go wrong there with anything you get" and that service is "always pretty quick." This consistency in product and service is what keeps patrons coming back season after season. The Manistee Dairy Queen is more than just a place to grab a dessert; it’s a destination that evokes a sense of nostalgia and local pride, a true sign that summer has arrived.
Finding the Manistee Dairy Queen is quite simple, thanks to its central location. The shop is situated at 376 1st St, placing it conveniently near the heart of Manistee. The accessibility of the shop, with its drive-thru and walk-up window, caters to different customer preferences. However, it's worth noting that this particular location has had some reported inconsistencies with how it manages its service, as a review mentioned being told they could only use the drive-thru after others had just been served at the window. While this may be a rare occurrence, it highlights the importance of being aware of the shop's operating procedures, which can sometimes be subject to change. Despite any minor service-related issues, the overall convenience of its location makes it an ideal spot for a quick and satisfying treat, solidifying its place as a key part of the local landscape.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Waited at the window behind a few people ordering. After they were finished ordering we got up to the window and they said it was drive through only? After they had just taken orders in front of us. Wouldn't take our order and sent us away. At that point there were 5 or 6 cars in line and we weren't going to wait. Great trip to Manistee, Terrible trip to Dairy Queen!
March 13 · Collin MartinOh yeah love to get me some dairy Queen in the summer, would all year if the one in Manistee was open year round but. Anyway u can't go wrong there with anything you get and it's always pretty quick considering and good service. I love me a caramel chocolate heath brownie cupfection with extra caramel or a chocolate malt with extra malt. Or just a plain ol vanilla soft serve in a cup will do jus fine. So if your around for the summer and need to chill out you should swing by and check em out.
July 01 · James SissonVisiting Manistee for the day and was excited to grab Dairy Queen for the drive home. Stood in line outside for about 10 minutes only to get to the counter and the girl working turn us away because we drove there. She would not take our order although we were patiently waiting and we didn’t know we “were supposed to go through the drive thru”. She could’ve said something when we got in line, but we had to wait just to not get any ice cream.
March 13 · Taylor DonkinDelicious treats. The staff are very quick and efficient. Some little mistakes here and there but nothing that ruins it and if its super noticeable then they will fix it no problem. It is more expensive than other dairy queens but its also in a small town so what do you expect! They also do not utilize the dq app so online ordering or those deals are not available. I've specially ordered a dq cake and they hit it out of the park - it was incredible and I will definitely be ordering it again and again. My regular order is a banana split with only peanut butter sauce and strawberry topping (its amazing) and a peanut butter cookie dough blizzard. Both are altered from the original menu so that's were mistakes can happen but nothing huge.
