For residents of Alexandria, Virginia, and the surrounding communities, the Dairy Queen (Treat) location at 1470 N Beauregard St offers that familiar comfort and sweet escape. This particular Dairy Queen is designed primarily as a "Treat" location, focusing on their extensive menu of frozen delights, making it the perfect spot for a quick and satisfying ice cream fix.
While some Dairy Queen establishments operate as "Grill & Chill" locations offering a full menu of hot food items, this Alexandria spot is geared towards efficiency and a focused treat experience. This focus ensures that your wait time for those irresistible frozen treats is minimized, perfect for a spontaneous indulgence or a convenient stop after a busy day.
Customers appreciate the simplicity and speed of service, often opting for "take out" due to the compact nature of the interior. As one reviewer noted, "Seating arrangements small. Take out is probably best bet since it's cramped inside." This highlights its role as a grab-and-go destination, allowing you to enjoy your treat on the move, at a nearby park, or in the comfort of your own car. Despite the occasional note about portion sizes or flavor intensity in Blizzards, the core appeal of Dairy Queen's signature items remains strong, drawing in regulars who appreciate the consistent quality of their favorite frozen desserts.

August 04 · janicewe got blizzards, but i feel like the sizes have been made a bit smaller recently. also, the flavors were a bit less exuberant as a i expected? they weren’t the strongest but you could still definitely taste them!
December 30 · merziyaNot only does their website say they have burger and fries. When you get in there you find out they only have hotdogs. And also on their sign it says blizzards are served upside down or the next one is free. Mine wasn't served upside down, so when I asked if I get a coupon or something to make my next blizzard free. I was told mine doesn't count because he put it in a cup tray even though I never asked for a tray. I told him that isn't right and is false advertising he just laughed and walked away to the back saying no. They don't honor their own policies
June 20 · Sean LaneNot so great. I wish I just went to the McDonalds next door. This place is empty for a reason. It’s gas station quality of ice cream and service. It even has a ding dong whenever the door opens and a grumpy guy comes out from the back and rushes your order with no help about the options. It’s a franchise so not the charming quality of DQ that I remember as a kid. My order had old, dry toppings and it was actually way to sweet ( I know, even for ice cream with fudge).
July 28 · Admin 001Nice enough place, but small and not the most modern. It could use a solid update inside. Went here for ice cream with a friend twice, so the food and ice cream is great.Overall it was clean, the staff, mostly teenagers were nice and helpful. If you are in the are, I would really recommend the ice-cream, as the do a GREAT JOB with it.I recommend them as a C+-/B-.
