Dairy Queen (Treat) Introduce
Located in the serene town of Branchville, New Jersey, the local Dairy Queen is a familiar and beloved institution for those seeking a classic ice cream treat. Known officially as a "Treat" location, this Dairy Queen focuses on its iconic soft-serve ice cream, Blizzards, and a wide array of other desserts that have become synonymous with the brand. For residents and visitors alike, a stop at this DQ is a quintessential experience, offering a taste of nostalgia and a reliable source for high-quality, delicious frozen treats.
The core of the Dairy Queen experience is, without a doubt, the ice cream. The soft-serve is a beloved classic, but the Blizzards are a star attraction. A recent customer, in a glowing review, stated that they were served "the best Blizzard I think I ever had." This particular treat, a Turtle Pecan Cluster Blizzard, was praised for being "mixed thoroughly and tasted fresh." This highlights the commitment of the staff to crafting a high-quality product that lives up to the brand's reputation. The dedication to ensuring that each Blizzard is perfectly blended and uses fresh ingredients is a major draw for customers who appreciate a well-made dessert. The consistency and quality of the treats are what make this location a go-to spot for many in the Branchville area.
However, it is important to acknowledge that customer experiences can vary. A detailed review from a long-time customer brought up some serious concerns regarding pricing consistency. The customer, who had been a regular for "a few weekends since they open," noted a pattern of being charged different prices for the same two ice creams, with one instance being "a different price today... $16 extra from last weekend." This led to a belief that the staff member was "making up prices to different families" and a feeling of unfair treatment, which sadly led the family to decide they "won't go there anymore." The customer also mentioned a family of eight who paid less for a larger order, which added to the frustration. While such experiences are not the norm, they are a significant part of the customer feedback and something to be aware of. The reviewer expressed that "one time mistake it’s fine but every weekend it’s different prices isn’t right," which speaks to the importance of consistency in pricing and customer service for all patrons.
On the other hand, the deliciousness of the products remains a consistent theme. When the experience is positive, it is a memorable one. The taste and freshness of the ice cream and Blizzards are frequently lauded, making it a reliable choice for a sweet craving. The menu, which includes a variety of cones, sundaes, and other treats, ensures that there is a dessert for every preference. The location’s reputation as a Treat location also means that its focus is squarely on its famous desserts, providing a specialized experience for those with a sweet tooth.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We been going there for a few weekends sense they open and I always get the same 2 ice creams and the same sizes and every time I go there the older lady charges me a different price today she charge me $16 extra from last weekend. She makes up prices to different families, a family of 8 was there in front of me and they all got medium and large blizzards and big cones and they paid less then I did for two small cups of ice cream. One time mistake it’s fine but every weekend it’s different prices isn’t right. We usually go there every weekend but after this weekend we won’t go there anymore. Not sure if she been racist but whatever it is isn’t right. Even my 10 year old daughter notice that she charge more. This is sad for the business and the owners reputation.
May 02 · Alexandra PintoThey made the best Blizzard I think I ever had. Turtle Pecan Cluster. Mixed thoroughly and tasted fresh.
December 04 · Louis J.The ice cream is good but I am so sad about the service I received. When I told the young lady that my niece has a peanut allergy and the entire order is peanut free since we share the ice cream - the manager stepped in and said "oh no, we do not have time for your peanut allergy today. We are too busy and cannot rinse the spoon and machine". I was so disappointed to come back to the car with no ice cream and the kids asking why there was no ice cream. We ended up going to Cliffs ice cream in Newton NJ and they had no problem making the order peanut free - plus their ice cream is amazing.
June 22 · M NThis Dairy Queen has been around for as long as I can remember. I go there about once a summer and enjoy a soft-serve ice cream cone. Then I remember how mediocre the ice cream is, and why I only go once a year. It's a nice little ritual. This is a very fun little stop for families with young kids, though. Soft-serve ice cream isn't a great food, but it is a nice experience.
July 10 · Joshua VogelFirst time I had Dairy Queen in months! As soon as I got my blizzards they were already melting on the counter and I went home which is 5 min away from the place and it melted all in the cup holders of my new car. I believe the employees are supposed to flip it upside down first too and she didn’t do that at all. We just wanted some good ice cream! Instead we got a liquid mess.... very disappointed 😕
