The services offered at Goat House Creamery go far beyond what you might expect from a typical ice cream parlor. This is where its hybrid nature truly shines. The menu is thoughtfully curated to provide a wide range of options, ensuring that repeat visits are always exciting.
Ice Cream: The star of the show for many, the ice cream selection is a major highlight. Customers have raved about their delicious dairy and non-dairy options, a crucial feature for those with dietary restrictions or personal preferences. The flavors mentioned in customer reviews, such as chocolate, blueberry pomegranate, and churro, hint at a creative and appealing selection that goes beyond the standard vanilla and chocolate. The availability of non-dairy choices is a particularly important aspect, as it makes the shop accessible to a broader audience and showcases a modern, considerate approach to food service. This focus on inclusivity is a major reason why many locals feel a strong connection to the place.
Crepes: As a "crepe shop" in its own right, Goat House Creamery offers a menu of these thin, delicate pancakes. While specific crepe flavors aren't detailed in the reviews, the very presence of this option adds a sophisticated and European-inspired touch to the menu. The crepes provide an alternative to the cold treats, making it an excellent spot for all seasons and all moods. The anticipation of trying a crepe on a future visit, as expressed by one customer, speaks volumes about the appeal of this offering.
Coffee and Other Drinks: For those seeking a warm or cold beverage, the cafe aspect of Goat House Creamery is ready to serve. From lattes to other coffee drinks, it provides a comprehensive cafe experience. The importance of having a good coffee option cannot be overstated, as it positions the shop as a perfect meeting place for coffee lovers, a morning stop, or an afternoon pick-me-up. One customer's experience with a lukewarm iced coffee drink, while a potential point for improvement, also highlights the fact that these iced and hot beverages are a key part of the menu and a reason people visit.
In addition to its varied menu, Goat House Creamery has several features and highlights that make it a standout local business. These details are what transform a simple shop into a beloved neighborhood institution.
Dairy and Non-Dairy Options: This is a huge selling point. The availability of both types of ice cream means that friends and family with different dietary needs can all enjoy a treat together. This thoughtful inclusion is a sign of a business that truly listens to its community and strives to be accommodating. It removes the barrier that often prevents people with allergies or dietary restrictions from participating in social outings focused on food.
Outdoor Seating: In the warmer months, the outdoor seating is a fantastic amenity. It allows customers to enjoy their ice cream or coffee al fresco, taking in the sights and sounds of Elkins Park. This is particularly appealing for families with children or for friends who want a more relaxed, open-air environment. It expands the usable space of the shop and creates a more resort-like feel, even in a local setting.
A Combination of Offerings: The fusion of an ice cream shop, a crepe shop, and a coffee shop is a unique and brilliant business model. It prevents the shop from being pigeonholed into a single category and allows it to attract a wider demographic at various times of the day. You could come for coffee in the morning and return for ice cream in the afternoon, making it a versatile local spot.
Clean and Inviting Atmosphere: The fact that the shop is clean and well-maintained is a significant highlight. A clean environment makes customers feel comfortable and valued, enhancing their overall experience. It shows a level of professionalism and care that contributes to a positive perception of the business.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is a lovely cafe / ice cream shop / crepe shop. Definitely quite the combination that offers something for all. There was one person working when I was there, the only customer waiting, and it took her more than enough time to assist me because she was using her phone. I’m not sure she even knew I was there. I ordered. Now, the issue I have with ordering an iced drink of any kind is that there should be ice in it. There was none. I basically got a luke warm coffee drink. Definitely not impressed. The shop is clean and has seating.
June 21 · True ReviewI absolutely love this neighborhood gem… they have delicious dairy and nondairy options…which was great. I’ve been a few times and my fave is a scoop of chocolate with a scoop of the blueberry pomegranate or the churro flavored ice cream. They also have outdoor seating.. which was really nice to catch up with friends over a few scoops and a latte. Looking forward to trying one of the crepes on my next visit
July 13 · Erikka StatonOrdered 2 crepes and to be honest I wish I hadn’t. The crepe itself has no flavor (vanilla anyone?) and the filling was overly sweet. The second one had granulated sugar just floating around in sauce. Definitely not worth $26
July 12 · Ivy SchroederThe strawberry banana crepe with Nutella and shaved almonds was pure indulgence in every bite! The crepe was thin, delicate, and just the right balance of soft and slightly crisp on the edges. Sweet, satisfying, and beautifully balanced. Highly recommend if you’re craving something decadent but fresh!
July 13 · Jennifer AlleyneGoat House Creamery was one of the first places I visited when looking for homes in Elkins Park and remains a local gem. The ice cream and crepes are yummy and it's a perfect spot for grabbing a cafe drink or sweet treat before heading to the train station or out for a family outing. The staff are welcoming and it's a wonderful community gathering spot.
