Dayton is a city with a rich history and a strong sense of community, and local businesses like Goldies play an important role in its character. The shop's focus on flavored soft serve taps into a classic American dessert tradition, but with a modern appeal. While some customer experiences have varied regarding portion sizes, wait times, and the execution of specific orders, the presence of a dedicated soft-serve shop offers a unique alternative to larger, chain-style establishments. It’s a place that locals may choose for its convenience and specific product offering, making it a part of their regular routine, particularly during the warmer months.
The concept of flavored soft serve is what truly defines Goldies. It’s a straightforward approach that promises a variety of tastes without the complexity of a full-service parlor. This specialization allows the shop to focus on perfecting its core product. While some feedback has mentioned issues with flavor intensity or the quality of certain components, such as the cone, the idea of a dedicated flavored soft serve shop remains an attractive proposition for many. It fills a specific void in the local market, catering to those who prefer the creamy, light texture of soft serve over traditional hard-scoop ice cream.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1So there was only two sizes of soft serve which was kiddie and regular. Which was fine except for the fact that the regular size that I received was so small. I also asked for my cone to be covered in the crunch coat and I don’t know if it’s because it was a child working back there, but there was no crunch coat. I asked for more and still received the same cone basically. But I didn’t want to make it an issue so I kept it but I did pay five dollars for a regular cone with a crunch coat, which was probably the size that a five-year-old should receive. The soft serve also wasn’t that good and for some reason, the cake cone tasted bitter?? I’ve never had that before and I’ve eaten a lot of soft serve. I wouldn’t be back.
June 26 · jewel boatengThe service was very nice. However, it took a lot longer to get ice cream than I expected. I think we waited 20 or 25 min to be served. My wife chocolate ice cream had almost no flavor without the chocolate sauce. My very ice cream was supposed to be squirreled with two different flavors, and I couldn't tell a difference.
June 12 · Darin ThatcherSuper cute small business. Took our golden pups to get some pup cups. Staff were friendly and quick. Ice cream was smooth and delicious. Also loved the variety of flavors and cone dip options. Pricing was reasonable, too.
April 07 · Laura VilseckOrdered fudge brownie delight and it was just vanilla ice cream with mixed chocolate sauce. It wasn’t great and just tasted like regular chocolate soft serve. Unimpressed. Plus hardly anyone there and it took a long time to get the order. We won’t be back.
June 29 · Kathleen HoranCute walk-up counter in a convenient location with well-priced options. The soft serve was pretty tasty and as evidenced in the photo, fairly large portion sizes! Service was very quick and friendly. My only minor complaint is that the soft serve started melting and very quickly dripping almost as soon as it was served to us. Granted, it was a warm summer evening, but it melted all over everyone's hands and I couldn't even have a conversation in my effort to keep my ice cream cone from becoming ice cream soup on my hands! I'd ask for a cup next time alongside my cone to try to mitigate the drip factor. Overall, cute and quick place to grab a yummy cone of soft serve with lots of unique flavor options.
