Hershey's Ice Cream, located in a prime Georgetown location, provides just that—a straightforward, delicious experience centered around a beloved brand of ice cream. This shop is not an elaborate gourmet parlor, but rather a no-frills establishment that focuses on serving quality, hand-dipped ice cream and other classic frozen desserts. For locals seeking a reliable and friendly spot to satisfy their sweet tooth, especially after a meal or a movie, this place offers a convenient and pleasant solution. This article will provide a comprehensive look at what makes this particular Hershey's Ice Cream location a suitable choice for residents, from its highly accessible location and menu to its welcoming atmosphere and features that cater to a casual outing.
Hershey's Ice Cream in Georgetown is a destination that prides itself on its product and its service. It offers a wide variety of flavors from the well-known Hershey's brand, which, it's worth noting, is not affiliated with the Hershey's chocolate company, but rather with a different Hershey Creamery Co. This distinction is important for those who might expect a chocolate-centric menu, though chocolate flavors are certainly a highlight. The shop's strength lies in its commitment to providing a good, honest scoop of ice cream. The staff is consistently described as friendly, contributing to a warm and inviting atmosphere. While the interior seating is limited, a detail that is important to note, the overall vibe is pleasant and relaxed. Customers appreciate the straightforward business model, where the focus is on the quality of the treat itself rather than on elaborate decor or an overly complicated menu. This simplicity makes it a great spot for a casual visit, whether you're grabbing a cone to go or taking a moment to sit outside and people-watch. The shop’s clear and direct approach to its business resonates well with people who are looking for a reliable and satisfying dessert without any of the fuss. The positive reviews about the "amazing nice cream" and the friendly staff highlight the store's successful execution of its simple yet effective concept.
The location of this Hershey's Ice Cream shop is a major factor in its appeal. Situated at 3151 K St NW, Washington, DC 20007, USA, the establishment is in the heart of Georgetown, one of D.C.'s most iconic neighborhoods. The shop is located directly adjacent to the AMC Georgetown movie theater, a feature that makes it a perfect post-movie destination. For many, a movie and an ice cream treat form a classic pairing, and this location capitalizes on that tradition perfectly. Accessibility to the shop is generally good. However, the shop is highly accessible via public transportation, with numerous bus lines serving the Georgetown area. It is also very walkable, situated right on the busy K Street corridor, which is known for its shops, restaurants, and scenic waterfront views. This walkability makes it a convenient and natural stop for tourists and locals exploring the neighborhood on foot. The shop's integration into this vibrant area means it's not just a standalone destination but a part of a larger experience, whether that's a date night, a family outing, or a solo stroll through one of the city's most charming districts.

July 20 · Edie YoungNice ice cream spot that serves Hershey's ice cream treats. You can get a wide variety of different flavors and they have sundaes and banana splits. It is a little expensive. We spent $15 for two single scoops in waffle cones. There is just a single counter with stools inside but there is more seating outside. It is directly adjacent to the movie theater, so it is a good place to stop after a movie.
May 21 · J. EmersonSmall ice cream shop with lots of options to choose from. Welcoming staff.Coffee ice cream was great, pistachio was not. You can get your ice cream and enjoy it at the Waterfront or at the outdoor seating area.
April 29 · Mirakmal NiyazmatovDate of Visit: Thursday Aug 24th, 2023Good portions for their ice cream. There were many flavours available. A lot of them had chocolate base/ content. I am not a fan of chocolate and vice versa. I ended up getting pralines and Cream which is my default flavour in these situations. The service was very friendly and helpful. The shop is located right across from the waterfront park – which makes it a great place to enjoy your ice cream. The prices are a bit steep but the volume is high, so I guess it is worth it.
October 15 · Rogue TrippersAvoid this place!!We recently visited this store, hoping for a pleasant treat, but it turned out to be a thoroughly disappointing experience. The staff were incredibly rude from the moment we walked in, making us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. When we asked for samples, they flatly refused saying that they “don’t offer that” which is a basic courtesy at any decent ice cream place. To top it off, the ice creams themselves were terrible. The flavors were bland, and the texture was off, almost as if they had been sitting out too long. We wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying ice cream experience. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. We highly recommend checking out the ice cream shops just one block away—they offer much better service and delicious ice cream.
