As a dedicated ice cream shop, it aims to provide a sweet experience to residents and visitors alike in the heart of downtown Frederick. This article will provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview of Hoffman Brothers Ice Cream, shedding light on its location, offerings, and what patrons can expect from their visit, based on available public information and customer feedback.
Hoffman Brothers Ice Cream has certainly generated buzz within the Frederick community. Many local users, having seen it featured on "Everything Frederick," express anticipation and look forward to trying their offerings. Positive feedback highlights "Great service and ice cream!" with one customer stating, "Loved it." The observation that "The store was packed, so they seem to have a great customer base" suggests a popular local following. Specific commendations for individual staff members, such as "The gentleman running the place was quick, and super friendly," point to the potential for excellent customer interactions. The pricing structure, which includes "$5 for mini scoop, $6 for single, $8 for double," is clearly laid out, and some customers find the ice cream to be "very rich," meaning a mini scoop can be "more than enough." However, it is also important to address some concerning feedback. A particularly negative review cited "freezer burned flavorless ice cream" and a "not great experience" with service. This patron detailed issues with payment methods, an upcharge for a basic cone, and a rigid policy regarding adding a second scoop to an existing cup, leading to perceived overcharging. The most critical aspect of this review was the "NOT good" taste of the ice cream itself, described as "hardly tasted of anything" and leaving an aftertaste of "freezer." This mixed feedback indicates that while the shop clearly has a loyal following and the potential for positive experiences, there may be inconsistencies in product quality or service delivery that new customers should be aware of.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Kept seeing this ice cream shop come up on Everything Frederick and was looking forward to trying them out.Great service and ice cream! Loved it. The store was packed, so they seem to have a great customer base.Definitely will stop in again. The gentleman running the place was quick, and super friendly.$5 for mini scoop, $6 for single, $8 for double. It’s very rich so the mini scoop was more than enough for me.
April 06 · Stacy MarieUnfortunately never will come back. Freezer burned flavorless ice cream. Had a not great experience on 4/8 around 7pm. Service was not good. First they didn’t know if they take google pay (they definitely take apple? It is just pay bye phone so it’s a yea by default). We were going to get a cone, but they upcharge a whole dollar for a basic cone that probably cost less than 10 cents for them. Then after deciding on one scope vanilla, he put it in a cup, we ended up wanting two scoops. Apparently he can’t put the extra scoop in the same cup because different cup = different amount of scoops. That means that the scoopage is not correct across the board and you’re paying more for less if you end up getting two scoops (and Litterally what the guy said too). So we went with one since he couldn’t just you know, put one scoop on top of the other … ( we were going to be charged 6$ x 2 rather than 8$ for two scoops). It’s ice cream, how much are you losing for this little difference? Other than a customer…The worst part. The ice cream itself is NOT good. It absolutely was freezer burned. We got vanilla bean and it hardly tasted of anything. Just bean, not vanilla. Afterward all I tasted was freezer. Really had high hopes for this. Left super disappointed with service and taste.
April 06 · J JTook our first (of many to come) trip today, and found out they are related to the legendary Taharka brothers ice cream in Baltimore! So happy, I could cry. Honey Graham and Key Lime pie for me, coffee Oreo for my man. Love you guys, thank you!!
March 23 · Katie BuckleyWe were visiting Frederick for the night with my family and we stumbled upon this lovely ice cream shop when looking to give my kids a sweet treat to end the night. We were thrilled to see they do not use any artificial dyes in their ice cream as we do not consume dyes in our family. We were even more thrilled once we tried their absolutely delicious ice cream! The people working were wonderful and the ice cream is out of this world! Thank you to Hoffman Brothers for being innovative and creative without using ingredients that are bad for us, we will be back!!!
July 02 · Emily WoodBest ice cream in Frederick. Super high quality, delicious, rich and flavorful. Friendly staff behind the counter, nice simple shop.
