Customer experiences at Ice Cream Social provide a mixed but helpful view of the establishment. One review highlights a positive visit, noting that it’s a "very nice spot with good tasting ice cream." The reviewer particularly enjoyed a "kahlua cappuccino shake with a scoop of killer chocolate," praising it for being "good and not too sweet." The staff member was described as "friendly and helpful," which is a significant factor in a positive customer experience. However, another detailed review points to a disappointing experience with a pre-ordered ice cream cake. While the reviewer pre-ordered a custom cake with a specific message, they received a plain, pre-made cake that "looked nothing like the cake on the website." The review also mentioned a smeared coating and a concern that the cake "might have been sitting around for some time." To compound the issue, they were nearly charged twice for the item. This feedback, while negative, highlights a potential inconsistency in service, particularly with custom and pre-ordered items. It serves as a reminder that while the day-to-day experience of grabbing a scoop is often positive, it's important to be mindful of orders for special occasions. Despite the negative experience with the cake, the reviewer still found the ice cream itself to be "just okay," suggesting that the shop’s primary strength lies in its basic scoop and shake offerings.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We used a Groupon to buy an ice cream and a shake. It’s a very nice spot with good tasting ice cream. I ordered the kahlua cappuccino shake with a scoop of killer chocolate. It was good and not too sweet. The vanilla that the boys ordered was good, but they said they’ve had better. The staff member there was friendly and helpful.
April 22 · Cybil SkarI pre-ordered a 6-inch pre made ice cream cake, but the experience was disappointing. I called the store the morning of pickup and they asked if I wanted any messages to be written on the cake. I told them that if they could write “Happy Birthday Name” I would be really happy. However, when I went to pick it up, I was handed a container with a few scoops of ice cream in a bag with my name on it—not a cake. When I mentioned I had ordered an ice cream cake, they gave me a plain, blank cake. There was no message, no name, and no indication it was the one I had ordered. It also looked nothing like the cake on the website. The cake looked like it might have been sitting around for some time—the orange cream on the bottom was smeared and spread all over the box on the bottom.I honestly wanted to cancel the order then and there, but since it was already the day of the birthday, I didn’t have much choice. To make things worse, when I tried to check out, they tried to charge me an additional $50, even though I had already prepaid during the pre-order. If I hadn’t been careful, I might have been charged twice. The taste of the cake was just okay. I’m not sure if it was because the cake was old, but the smeared coating made it hard to keep its shape. This was supposed to be a special day for our family, and I was genuinely excited about the cake—but the experience ended up being quite depressing 😞
May 21 · gary thornGreat tasting ice cream with many varieties (including 4 vegan and 16 regular), nice texture, great prices ($2 per kid scoop), ample indoor and outdoor seating as well as car parking. They also have hot chocolates, tea and coffee. Very strongly recommend.I got the sampler (4 scoops for $8) and had blue zoo (unique and my favorite), brownie batter (vegan, a close second), egg nog and killer chocolate. All of them had good flavor and right amount of sweetness. They also sell prepacked pints.
December 30 · Alan VargheseI really enjoyed the ice cream very much so. The ice cream is handmade in the Hudson valley region, so not in store. Still enjoyed the unique flavors like blue zoo with blue spirulina and animal crackers. I sampled the cannoli also and it was really delicious, so I’ll probably get that next time. The only downside is really that the shop itself is very unclean. The floor and chairs need a paint job badly. Unfortunately, the seating area was very dirty.
July 18 · G GOne of my favorite places in all of White Plains! Great, fun, and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are always incredibly nice and I will say the ice cream is too quality. I believe they use Janes ice cream exclusively which I absolutely love and am the biggest fan of!
