Marina Ice Cream Corp Introduce
For many New Yorkers, the presence of delicious ice cream in their local grocery stores, delis, and convenience stores is a given. What often goes unseen, however, is the intricate network of distribution that makes these sweet treats so readily available. In Brooklyn, New York, Marina Ice Cream Corp stands as a significant, though perhaps less publicly visible, player in this delicious ecosystem. While not a retail scoop shop for individual customers, Marina Ice Cream Corp plays a crucial role as a direct store delivery (DSD) distributor, ensuring that countless establishments across the New York Metro area are well-stocked with a wide array of frozen delights.
Acquired by GlacierPoint Enterprises Inc. in 2022, Marina Ice Cream Corp has a long-standing history, founded in 1983, of serving as a full-service distributor of ice cream and other frozen food and beverage products. They are particularly recognized as an exclusive DSD distributor for major ice cream brands like Unilever (including Häagen-Dazs and Ben & Jerry's) as well as other beloved names such as Breyer's, Perry's, and Turkey Hill. This means that if you're enjoying a carton of your favorite brand from a local New York supermarket, there's a good chance Marina Ice Cream Corp played a part in getting it there.
Beyond stocking retail shelves, Marina Ice Cream Corp also extends its services to local schools through its "School Ice Cream Fundraising Program." This initiative allows schools throughout New York to easily offer ice cream to their students while raising funds, providing freezers and convenient weekly delivery service. This demonstrates Marina Ice Cream Corp's commitment not just to commercial distribution but also to supporting community initiatives, making them a foundational element of New York's sweet landscape, even if their primary interaction isn't directly with the individual ice cream consumer at a retail counter.
Marina Ice Cream Corp is located at 1195 McDonald Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11230, USA. This address places it within a dynamic industrial and commercial area of Brooklyn, a borough known for its dense population and diverse businesses. As a distribution center, its accessibility is primarily relevant for logistical operations rather than walk-in retail customers. McDonald Avenue is a significant thoroughfare in Brooklyn, providing access for commercial vehicles to navigate to and from the facility.
For the purposes of its distribution operations, the location is strategic, allowing for efficient access to various parts of the New York Metro area for its direct store delivery services. However, it is important for New Yorkers, particularly those involved in commercial deliveries, to be aware of the specific logistical considerations at this location. Reviews from drivers indicate that while employees are generally respectful and aim for efficiency, the facility may present challenges such as a lack of a dedicated loading dock and potentially congested roadways, especially during peak times. Drivers are advised to "come in very early to secure a parking spot" and be mindful of "support beams around the place." The street can be "moderately busy at times," which is typical for a commercial area in Brooklyn.
While individual consumers in New York would not typically visit this address for a retail ice cream purchase, its existence here underscores Brooklyn's role as a vital hub for the distribution of goods across the city, ensuring that the ice cream New Yorkers love is readily available in their neighborhoods.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Interesting place to unload. Employees are very respectful and try their best to get you in and out. If you’re not sure how to get in or out let them know I’ve had minimal issues with their directions.Just be careful with the support beams around the place. Best to come in very early to secure a parking spot even then you’ll run into issues backing up cause the road is moderately busy at times.
October 22 · Joel CrespoDrivers avoid coming to thus place amd its not because it's hard to get because for me brooklyn isn't my issue but to deal with rude people I do have an issue with. They don't honor appointments amd they dont have a loading dock and employees are extremely rude! If you wanna lose a day and take abuse then this place is for you.
May 26 · pinny spiraWrong hours!!! Waste of timeSays they close at 5pm arrived at 4:02
July 18 · Michael MedinaNot meant for a 53 ft trailer. Took to long to unload trailer and there is no loading dock. Everything has to be unloaded onto the sidewalk by their employees. constantly have to circle around the neighborhood for parking. Then there is a lot of traffic. Definitely not coming here again. If you folks ever deliver here take the Brooklyn Queens Expressway (I-278) to Exit 24 for (Rt 27 east) Prospect Expressway to first traffic light. Don't worry about the low bridges. Go straight across traffic light. Now Prospect Expressway becomes Ocean Parkway. Take Ocean Parkway to Avenue N. Take right on Avenue N to first traffic light and right onto McDonald Ave and go 4 to 5 blocks until you get to 1195 McDonald Ave. Marina Ice cream will be on your right side. Best time to get here is after 10pm at night and before 5am in the morning no later.
