★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I took my grandkids from FL to get "special ice cream", and ride the ferry across. The young staff are always friendly. I have been here many times when my own kids were young. It was bug season, so a tad annoying, but totally manageable.
July 11 · Connie MonroeThere's a wonderful ice cream stand on this side. The ferry is efficient and fun to cross on.
July 07 · Jodi OlsonIt’s such a treat to get a come out a cup of Ice Cream Shoppe ice cream while you wait to cross the Wisconsin River on the Merrimac Ferry! Plenty in great flavors served up in waffle and cake cones! There’s nice tables to sit and watch the action and the service staff is super friendly!
September 03 · Aj SueBeen coming here almost 30 years. It's changed hands, but the teenager that ran it when I was a kid is now the man that owns it. Always had great ice cream, stop through every time I come to town in the summer
June 22 · Dream LecherIt was very fun to experience a ferry ride across a river! The Merrimac Ferry might be the last free ferry in Wisconsin. It connects the east and west sides of the Wisconsin River across Hwy 113 in the city of Merrimac, WI.The wait for the ferry depends on how many cars need to cross at any particular time. I waited for 1 round trip of the ferry, which took 7 minutes in each direction. There are ice cream stores on each side of the river. I didn't realize those were there, so as I was waiting the 14 minutes, I could have been enjoying a cone.According to my friends, I missed a big part of the experience, because I didn't have a cone. Oh well.I felt very safe on the ferry. A few people hopped out of their cars to get a better view of the river...so I did, too. Feeling the fresh air and the motion of the water added to the fun time.I would definitely do it again!
