Milk & Froth Ice Cream Introduce
In the heart of downtown Detroit, a true artisanal ice cream experience awaits at Milk & Froth Ice Cream. This isn’t your average scoop shop; it’s a place where every batch is handcrafted from scratch, with a dedication to quality and flavor that is evident from the moment you walk through the door. One customer review beautifully captures the initial sensory experience, noting that "It smells so good in here, firstly." This is a testament to their commitment to making fresh waffle cones daily, a detail that adds a layer of warmth and welcoming aroma to the space. Milk & Froth is a local business that has grown from a humble food truck to a brick-and-mortar sensation, drawing crowds with its unique and delicious flavors. For residents of Detroit, it's a perfect spot to enjoy a premium dessert that is made with care and a passion for the craft.
Milk & Froth stands out in the crowded dessert market because of its focus on quality ingredients and a thoughtful approach to flavor. They use milk and cream from Northville's Guernsey Farms Dairy and avoid artificial colorings, flavorings, and chemical stabilizers. This commitment to all-natural ingredients results in ice cream that is both rich and creamy. While the flavor selection may not be as vast as a large chain, every option is a deliberate and delicious creation. Customer reviews highlight this, praising flavors like "sea salt butter cake" and "malted cherry chocolate." One reviewer described the salted butter cake flavor as "heaven," with "chewy caramel-y bites inside." This speaks to the attention to detail and the high quality of the mix-ins. The malted cherry chocolate is another crowd favorite, praised for being like a "deconstructed milkshake" with chocolate bits and cherries. This focus on a curated, high-quality menu is a key part of the shop's identity.
The experience at Milk & Froth is consistently described as positive and friendly. One customer noted that the server was "pleasant and friendly," and another remarked that the service was "friendly and efficient." This warm and welcoming atmosphere is a huge part of what makes a local business thrive. Customers also appreciate the ability to try samples before making a decision, a standard practice that makes the "not a huge selection but what they do have is delicious" aspect of the menu an enjoyable process of discovery. A reviewer also noted that the ice cream is "a bit light, like it's fluffy rather than densely packed," and "eats quickly." While this might be a preference for some, it's a helpful detail for parents, who might opt for a bowl for their kids to avoid messes. The fact that the shop is open late, as a customer mentioned "until 10pm on a Monday night," is a great bonus, making it a convenient stop for a late-night treat.
Another major highlight of Milk & Froth is its dedication to homemade products, particularly its waffle cones. As one reviewer enthusiastically noted, they are "fresh and perfect." The shop makes these cones throughout the day, which not only provides a delicious vessel for the ice cream but also creates that wonderful aroma that greets customers at the door. This commitment to making everything from scratch, including the ice cream base for each flavor, is what elevates the quality of the product and the overall customer experience. They also offer a range of vegan and non-dairy options, which are praised for being "unbelievably creamy and good," showing their commitment to accommodating various dietary needs. This inclusive approach ensures that more people can enjoy their delicious offerings.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It smells so good in here, firstly. Secondly, you can try the ice creams, and thirdly, they're all delicious. I chose the salted butter cake one and dang, it's good. The chewy caramel-y bites inside are like little nuggets of heaven. The waffle cones are fresh and perfect. A great place to stop and have ice cream or grab a pint. Our server was pleasant and friendly. The ice cream is a bit light, like it's fluffy rather than densely packed, so it eats quickly. I'd get a bowl for the kiddos so that it maybe wouldn't run all over the place and stick the cone on top.
June 10 · CarolynNot a huge selection but what they do have is delicious. Excellent homemade waffle cones as well. Can’t wait to try other flavors. Had the sea salt butter cake and tasted my wife’s malted cherry chocolate. Service was friendly and efficient. Also bonus that they’re open until 10pm on a Monday night.
July 07 · shawn wujackHighly recommend this place. Waffles made on demand making them perfectly warm. Limited flavor selection however what they had was amazing! And all homemade. On top of that, the prices are incredibly reasonable especially given all homemade.
February 15 · Heather GarzelloniThey always have delicious and innovative ice cream flavors. And their waffle cones are actually good! Not dry and cardboard, but crisp and light. It's always a treat to have some of their ice cream.
July 11 · Marvin MacharI love the salted butter cake ice cream but it’s always out of stock. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve driven down there just to be told they are out. When I call to check before heading down I don’t get an answer more than half the time. They need some sort of system on their website so that customers can look what is in stock so they quit wasting their time. It’s getting to the point where I’m going to stop trying even though I love this ice cream, not worth the stress/hassle.
