★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My rating is for the coffee shop, I'm sure the ice cream is great as we are big fans of Millie's on Highland. I've really tried to use this as my home coffee shop during work but it's been disappointing the many times I've ordered something other than drip coffee. The Americano's are super hot. I ordered a oat milk cortado as of late. The first cortado was steamed so hot that even with lid sitting outside for 10 min it was still undrinkable. When you steam over 160 degrees it looses it's flavor (milk) and much over that, all you taste is the burnt milk and no coffee. I asked them to make a new one (they are really friendly) and I said last one was steamed too hot. He made a new one and under heated it and it tasted blah. They should just stick a thermometer till they get the feel for how hot they are steaming it. The cortado is suppose to be 4 oz (photo in glass) and not 8 oz (photo paper cup) filled to the top because essentially you are serving coffee latte. One of those times you shouldn't be happy you are getting more product. You should really taste the double shot espresso and not just milk. They seemed confused on the cortado that is clearly on menu and describes the drink lol. Oh well. I think you're good ordering just coffee and putting some milk yourself. I tried. They tried. Again, friendly enough there.
October 02 · K SMillie’s is always a welcoming atmosphere with good service. I cannot get enough of the Mocha Latte right now!! So much so that it has now become a part of my daily routine! Highly recommend!
February 06 · Ashley SmithI am really disappointed with the latte today. The milk was over-steamed, and it was not textured in any way. I wanted a plain old latte, not extra hot, just the very basic, most popular drink in any cafe in the U.S.I saw the barista steamed milk with a steam wand but without any effort to stretch it to create foam. Even worse, she steamed it for way too long for the milk to maintain its natural sweetness. The end product was the same as if she had put the milk in a microwave for 30 seconds and mixed it with a shot of espresso afterwards: untextured, watery, and tongue-burning.I am giving a two star because I know this is not the quality this place can deliver, and has delivered with baristas that cared about coffee in the past. I really hope the baristas there now can improve on their care to make quality coffee drinks, and serve their best cups consistently to the best of their abilities.
November 08 · Henry ChangUsually a decent place to go. I don’t let one specific instance ruin the place but I have gotten chunky milk the last 2 times I went. Not the biggest deal, I thought somehow it might be ice cream so I scooped it out of my cup and I was immediately wrong lol. Anyway, maybe just check the milks. Other then that its a good place when it’s good.
April 08 · Trey LawrenceIce cream is some of the best ever. Wish I could say the same about advertised hours vs actual hours, being that my shift finishes sometime between 8:30 and 9:30 and I wish I could do Millies after work like the advertised hours of open till 10 indicate. Oh well, guess I need to find another way to celebrate when I secure bonuses.
