Pirates Cove Pub and Grill, as its name suggests, offers a dual experience catering to both dining and dessert preferences. While the primary focus might lean towards the pub and grill aspect, it also maintains an ice cream counter, providing a range of options for patrons.
- Pub and Grill Menu: While specific menu items for the pub and grill side were not extensively detailed in the provided reviews, the mention of "the restaurant part" looking "nice inside and a little calmer" suggests a full dining experience. Pubs and grills typically offer a variety of classic American fare, such as burgers, sandwiches, appetizers like onion rings, cheese sticks, and possibly salads or other entrees. Based on typical offerings of similar establishments, one might expect a selection of beverages including alcoholic options given the "pub" designation.
- Ice Cream and Frozen Treats: This is the specific focus for this article. The establishment has an ice cream counter, offering various cold desserts.
- Twist Cones: A common offering, where a customer requested a "twist cone, chocolate dipped."
- Milkshakes: Strawberry milkshake was mentioned, indicating that a variety of milkshake flavors are likely available.
- Lemonade (Fresh Squeezed): While not strictly ice cream, it's offered at the counter, suggesting a range of refreshing beverages alongside their frozen treats.
- Dine-In and Take-Out Options: Given its nature as both a pub and an ice cream shop, it is highly probable that it offers both dine-in service for meals and counter service for ice cream that can be enjoyed on-site or taken to go.
- Busy Environment (Peak Times): As noted by a customer, the place can get "very busy," especially during peak times, indicating a high volume of patronage. This suggests efficiency in service, even if minor errors occur due to high demand.

Pirates Cove Pub and Grill offers several features and highlights that draw in its clientele, although some aspects receive mixed feedback. Understanding these can help set expectations for a visit.
- Dual Concept (Pub & Grill with Ice Cream): A significant highlight is the combined offering of a pub and grill alongside an ice cream counter. This versatility allows the establishment to cater to different types of visits and cravings. Patrons can come for a full meal, a casual drink, or simply a sweet dessert, making it a convenient one-stop location. This makes it appealing for families or groups with varied preferences.
- Potentially Calmer Dining Area: One customer noted that the "restaurant part too not just the ice cream as it looks nice inside and a little calmer." This suggests that the interior dining area offers a different, perhaps more relaxed, atmosphere compared to the potentially bustling ice cream counter or outdoor areas, providing a more traditional dining experience.
- High Volume / Popularity: The pub and grill can get "very busy," with cars even parking "across the highway to stop in." This indicates a high level of popularity and customer demand, particularly during peak times. While this can lead to a bustling environment, it also suggests that the place is a known and favored spot in the community.
- Problem Resolution: Despite being very busy, "slight errors that were fixed with no issues" indicates a willingness to address customer concerns and rectify mistakes, which is a positive aspect of customer service in a high-volume environment.
While some specific ice cream items or preparations might not always meet customer expectations, the overall concept of a combined pub, grill, and ice cream spot, along with its evident popularity and willingness to fix issues, forms the main highlights of Pirates Cove Pub and Grill.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Super disappointed, Strawberry milkshake tasted like water and 2% milk with barely any ice cream. Daughter wanted a twist cone, chocolate dipped, they dipped it twice and we could hear them say it didn’t work, handed my daughter a half melted ice cream cone with a melted smear of chocolate on it. Don’t get the fresh squeezed lemonade, it was a small plastic cup with water and maybe a drop of lemon flavor, no actual lemon to be found. Really not worth going!!
June 12 · Megan HunterVery busy place, think we were there during their peak time of the day we had nine people between our two groups and there were only slight errors that were fixed with no issues which is to be expected when they were so busy they had cars parking across the highway to stop in . Next time I think we would like to try the restaurant part too not just the ice cream as it looks nice inside and a little calmer
June 09 · Amber Claypoole looseSome of the best food in the area! I got a crispy chicken salad and will definitely be coming back. The servers and bartender were awesome!
May 27 · a nThe best ice cream around and the straws that you use for your milkshakes is 10 out of 10 the best keep up the good work love coming here
May 13 · George NestlerodeThe food, service, seating, and prices are all excellent. Definitely worth going, especially if you're staying at the camp grounds around Glendale.
