Sycamore Drive In offers a menu that extends beyond simple ice cream, with a variety of classic treats and unique creations designed to satisfy any craving. The shop's offerings focus on providing a high-quality product in a fun and nostalgic setting. Here is a list of some of the key services and products available:
- A variety of frozen desserts, including a smooth and creamy custard that has been praised by a customer with "experienced taste buds."
- Classic items like root beer floats, though one review noted a negative experience with a dairy-free version due to icy, freezer-burnt ice cream.
- Specialty beverages like malts, with a customer giving "high praise for his peanut butter malt."
- Classic accompaniments such as waffle cones, though a review mentioned they were "nothing to write home about."
- A wide selection of other classic American drive-in fare, which may include items like shakes and sundaes, to round out the menu.
- "Pup cups" for dogs, as mentioned in a review, showing a welcoming and accommodating attitude towards all family members.
While the menu offers a diverse range of treats, customer feedback provides some important context on the quality. One review highlighted a very positive experience with the custard and malts, praising them for being "smooth" and "creamy." However, another review noted a significant issue with the dairy-free root beer float, describing the ice cream as "freezer burnt and icy." ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Got vanilla dairy free root beer float for my girlfriend and I and it was terrible! The ice cream was freezer burnt and icy, not creamy, and had a horrible taste. Nice fast service but don’t offer dairy free please if it’s going to taste awful. There are so many good dairy free ice cream products out there so please do better sycamore drive in. I could’ve saved $ and made my own!
June 19 · Eri SmithCute little drive-in with two windows for ordering from your car (one on each side of the building), as well as walk-up windows in the front. I had chocolate custard in a waffle cone. The cone was nothing to write home about, but the custard was smooth, creamy and not too chocolatey (something I tend to dislike with chocolate custard). Being from Wisconsin, custard is our jam, so I speak with experienced taste buds. My husband gave high praise for his peanut butter malt as well. The young lady at the window was friendly, patient and accommodating (even let my husband try the jumbo size cup in his cup holder to see if it would fit). If you're on the freeway like we were, this is an easy on-off for a cold treat on a very hot day.
June 29 · Amanda AhrndtOh my gosh, they have such a good selection, and it is so delicious that it is worth the side trip to stop.
June 06 · Amy HaseWe called a head to see if they had an item we were looking for. They said they did. Drove almost an hour to find out they didnt. They need to teach the employees to give accurate information. Total waste of time!
April 06 · Robert StumpFound 4 black hairs on my French fries once. Definitely was on purpose.
