What truly sets The Blue Pig apart in the bustling New York landscape is its dedication to crafting ice cream from scratch, using "the most pure, natural ingredients straight from a local farm, our own garden, or Cole the local coffee roaster." This meticulous approach ensures "pure, distinct flavors in every spoonful," a stark contrast to places that rely on pre-made mixes. Their philosophy, "Your ice cream can only be as good as your milk," underscores their partnership with Hudson Valley Fresh, ensuring milk that is fresh, high-quality, and free from undesirable additives. This focus on local sourcing and artisanal methods is a significant draw for discerning New Yorkers who value transparency and quality in their food.
Beyond the delightful ice cream, The Blue Pig cultivates an environment of genuine care, especially evident in its meticulous allergy protocols. One reviewer highlighted a seamless experience for a nephew with a peanut allergy, noting that the staff "washed their hands, grabbed a clean scooper and even opened a fresh tub of homemade ice cream." This level of attentiveness provides immense peace of mind for families, making The Blue Pig a trusted and safe haven for those with dietary concerns.
The shop also boasts an "amazing bake case selection" that caters to a wide range of preferences, including "vegan, gluten/free and traditional baked goods." This expansive offering, combined with their incredible homemade ice cream and dedication to customer well-being, solidifies The Blue Pig's reputation as a true gem in Croton-On-Hudson and a must-visit for anyone seeking a delightful and worry-free treat in Westchester County.

I brought two of my nephews one who has a peanut allergy and they already had an allergy protocol in place they washed their hands, grabbed a clean scooper and even opened a fresh tub of homemade icecream. It made me feel at ease and we will definitely be coming back. Oh and they have an amazing bake case selection something for all vegan, gluten/ free and traditional baked goods. April 14 · Cristie AngelExcellent and friendly staff, great flavors with vegan options, and reasonable prices. The atmosphere is lovely. The shop itself is kinda small so most of the seating is outdoors.
July 06 · A RobertsGreat 😃 ice cream and sorbet. Watermelon and Arnold Palmer flavors were refreshing on a hot day. More delicious sounding pre-packed choices in the fridge. Want to try the guava next time.
July 14 · Douglas HalsrudWOW... how have I never heard of this place before?! The freshest ice cream I've probably ever tasted. I opted for the Banana Cream Pie & it was incredibly delicious. Everything is made on site in their adorable store. The staff was helpful, patient & delightful. Their flavors change on a weekly bases. I can't wait to go back. Such a gem!
