The Franklin Fountain isn't just about the scenery; the quality of its offerings is what truly makes it a local gem. From the moment you step inside, you're transported by the charmingly old-fashioned decor, packed with historical artifacts that add a unique flavor to the experience. The ice cream itself is the star of the show. With a good array of flavor options, it's clear that care and quality go into each batch. The "hand-crafted" description isn't just a label; the rich and satisfying taste speaks for itself.Be prepared for a bit of a wait! On our visit, there was a line of about 15 people ahead of us, and it continued to grow behind us. This popularity speaks to the quality of their offerings, but it's something to keep in mind if you're on a tight schedule. While the ice cream was undeniably good and the historical ambiance added to the enjoyment, I wouldn't necessarily make a special trip just for Franklin Fountain. However, if you find yourself exploring the historical wonders of Old City, a stop here for a sweet treat is an absolute must. It's a lovely way to cap off a day of sightseeing and indulge in a taste of the past.Overall: Delicious, hand-crafted ice cream in a uniquely historical setting. Worth the wait if you're in the area!

July 02 · Aminah AmoreIf you're an ice cream connoisseur like me, then when you're in Philadelphia, you definitely cannot miss a trip or two or three to The Franklin Fountain! The ice cream is rich and creamy and incredibly flavorful. All of the ice cream is homemade and includes handmade in-house chocolate. Because it's an old-fashion fountain, I had to try a soda. I had a grape phosphate and it was sweet and tangy, and, oh, so delicious! The syrups are made in-house.Beyond the fantastic ice cream and drinks, the greatest asset of The Franklin Fountain is its team! You could REALLY tell that they L❤️VED their jobs! Each person took such pride and care with whatever they were making. Saleem was such an incredibly happy and authentic young man who wanted to do anything he could to make the customers happy!Even MORE SPECIAL...we got to meet one of the two brothers who own The Franklin Fountain, Mr. Eric Berley! He was gracious enough to take a picture with me!This is such a special and wonderful place that shouldn't be missed!
March 28 · Toni KauiTop tier delicious ice cream. I love the old school look and feel of a traditional ice cream parlor. Definitely a must visit if in Philly. The strawberry short cake ice cream was so good. They also use to come to the lansdowne market not sure if they do anymore but i use to get their ice cream there a lot.
June 07 · CI can confidently say this is the best ice cream I’ve ever tasted! Each scoop was a delightful experience. Plus, the vintage interiors added such a charming touch to the atmosphere—what a perfect blend of flavor and ambiance!
