The accessibility of this location is a significant advantage. ---The Frozen Sandcastle Ice Cream & Snowballs distinguishes itself through its creative and expansive menu of frozen delights. They offer a unique twist on classic favorites, ensuring there's something to excite every palate. Here’s a look at their primary services and offerings:
Custom Ice Cream Creations: This is where The Frozen Sandcastle truly shines. They move beyond typical scoops and sundaes, offering elaborate, themed "sugar mountains" that are visually impressive and incredibly flavorful. These creations can be tailored to various themes and often include a wide array of toppings, mix-ins, and embellishments, making each dessert a personalized masterpiece.
Unique Themed Desserts: A standout example is their "Cotton Candy" creation, which, as a customer review highlights, is "served in mugs!" This indicates a focus on presentation and a commitment to creating an immersive and fun dessert experience. These themed desserts are a major draw, especially for families and children.
Snowballs: A Maryland classic, snowballs are also a staple at The Frozen Sandcastle. These finely shaved ice treats are flavored with a wide variety of syrups, offering a refreshing alternative to ice cream. Customers can likely expect a broad selection of flavors, allowing for customization to individual preferences.
Wide Variety of Flavors and Toppings: Given their emphasis on custom and themed creations, it's safe to infer that they offer a vast selection of ice cream flavors and an extensive array of toppings, allowing for endless combinations and personalized desserts.
Kid-Friendly Options: The playful nature of their "sugar mountains" and themed desserts makes The Frozen Sandcastle an ultimate dream for kids, as noted by a reviewer. They likely cater specifically to younger patrons with vibrant and imaginative offerings.
While their focus is strongly on unique ice cream and snowball concoctions, one customer review pointed out a potential area for improvement regarding milkshakes: "They can’t make a thick milkshake? Been there 2times maybe thinking the first time the shake just sat for a bit. But the second time was obvious I would not go back because I prefer milkshakes and not just ice cream." This suggests that while their specialized ice cream and snowball creations are highly lauded, those who specifically prefer traditional, thick milkshakes might want to inquire about them or consider their other robust offerings.
---The Frozen Sandcastle Ice Cream & Snowballs offers several distinctive features that make it a compelling destination for dessert lovers in Maryland:
Innovative and Creative Desserts: The most significant highlight is their departure from conventional ice cream offerings. They specialize in "full fledged sugar mountains and any flavor or theme you want," as described by a delighted customer. This emphasis on unique, elaborate, and themed ice cream creations sets them apart from most other ice cream shops.
"Kids Ultimate Dream": One review perfectly encapsulates the appeal to younger audiences, calling the place "a kids ultimate dream for getting ice cream." The whimsical and elaborate nature of their desserts is specifically designed to captivate children and families, making it an excellent spot for a family outing.
Focus on Presentation: The fact that their "Cotton Candy" creation is "served in mugs" demonstrates a commitment to presentation and an overall experience, not just taste. This attention to detail elevates the simple act of getting ice cream into a memorable event.
Extensive Customization: While not explicitly stated, the ability to create "any flavor or theme you want" strongly implies a high degree of customization for their ice cream creations, allowing customers to design their perfect dessert.
Maryland Snowball Tradition: In addition to their innovative ice cream, the inclusion of snowballs on their menu means they honor a beloved Maryland summer tradition, appealing to those who prefer this refreshing shaved ice treat.
It's important to acknowledge varied customer experiences. While the creative ice cream is widely celebrated, one specific piece of feedback highlighted an issue with milkshake consistency, noting, "They can’t make a thick milkshake? Been there 2times maybe thinking the first time the shake just sat for a bit. But the second time was obvious I would not go back because I prefer milkshakes and not just ice cream." This suggests that while their specialty items are a hit, specific beverage options may not meet everyone's expectations for thickness. However, the overwhelming positive sentiment revolves around their unique ice cream and snowball offerings, which remain their defining feature.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place is a kids ultimate dream for getting ice cream. When I say ice cream, I’m not talking about your typical scoops or Sundays…. I’m talking about full fledged sugar mountains and any flavor or theme you want! The one pictured here is called Cotton Candy and they serve them in mugs!

July 05 · John DoeI first ordered a medium Hawaiian Passion Fruit with Marshmallow on top. It wasn’t what I was expecting. The gentleman who served me could tell I was displeased and came to ask me if everything was okay. Normally I wouldn’t say anything but I figured I would tell him since this is my first time having a snow cone from there. He offered to make something else for me. I asked if it was okay to get a small chocolate milkshake instead. He, without a hesitation, agreed to give me a milkshake instead. When I checked the prices I noticed the milkshake was more but he didn’t ask for the difference. I really appreciate his outstanding customer service and I was able to get something I liked. The photo attached isn’t the milkshake it’s the pumpkin ice cream cone that is expecting to be released soon…that same gentleman came over and gave my boyfriend a free ice cream cone. Something he definitely didn’t need to do but we were very happy to see such kindness. Unfortunately, my boyfriend doesn’t like ice cream so he handed it right over to me! 😈😂 It was delicious and I’m not really a huge pumpkin flavor kind of person! Thanks so much for an amazing experience!! ☺️
September 11 · Jezabel SerranoI went here for an over the top milkshake and got some sticker shock. The price wasn't posted anywhere, my friend and I ordered two and the total was over $20. Everything else on the menu was relatively cheap. I got the seasonal trick or treat flavor and my friend got the peanut butter party. Trick or treat had a chocolate drizzle mason jar mug rimmed with green chocolate covered with sprinkles and candy eyes. There was a creamsicle milkshake, ghost marshmallow, Halloween Oreo, Hershey's chocolate bar, healthy amount of whipped cream and a large boba straw. Peanut butter party had a chocolate drizzle mason jar mug rimmed with chocolate covered with Reese's pieces and sprinkles. The chocolate peanut butter milkshake had bits of candy in it that made the boba straw make sense. The milkshake was topped with a healthy amount of whipped cream, Reese's peanut butter cup, Reese's peanut butter chocolate chip cookie and a peanut butter creme pirouette cookie stick. Trick or treat was doable solo but peanut butter party is rich enough to order for two. I highly recommend this place for a decadent dessert. I've included a picture of the seasonal treat board, hope that helps someone!!
October 15 · Carin DWe’ve been here a few times and they’ve messed up our order a majority of the time. Our order was messed up today and the owner didn’t understand what I was ordering, even when I ordered the ice cream word for word from the menu. Today, a car show was held in their parking lot and there was nowhere to park. Cars were cutting each other off and once the cars left, a group of people were loitering and blocking most of the parking spots. My mother said something to the owner about the loitering and the safety concern of them standing in the actual street and blocking parking and he said “sorry, we’ve been busy” and didn’t do anything about it. I will not return and I’d rather go down the street and order from Dairy Queen. It’s a shame since I’d rather support small business, but I won’t support this place anymore.
