Aurelia is conveniently located at 255 W 43rd St, New York, NY 10036, USA. This address places it squarely in Midtown Manhattan, specifically within the vibrant and high-traffic Theater District, just a stone's throw from Times Square. Its position within a "little deli," as described by a customer, might make it seem like a hidden gem, but its central location ensures excellent accessibility for New Yorkers from all over the city.
The accessibility of this area is unparalleled. Numerous subway lines serve the vicinity, including the A, C, E, N, Q, R, W, S, 1, 2, 3, and 7 trains, all with stations within a very short walking distance. This makes Aurelia an ideal stop for those attending Broadway shows, exploring the Times Square area, or simply commuting through Midtown. Bus routes also frequently traverse 42nd and 43rd Streets, providing additional public transportation options.
While a "cute little shop" might imply a smaller footprint, its integration into an existing deli means it benefits from steady foot traffic and a quick, in-and-out experience. This is perfect for New Yorkers on the go who appreciate efficiency without sacrificing quality. The bustling energy of Midtown complements the unique flavors offered, making Aurelia a convenient and intriguing stop for a sweet treat during a busy day in the city.

Aurelia specializes in bringing authentic Asian flavors to the traditional Italian concepts of gelato and sorbetto. Their menu, while not extensive in terms of number of containers displayed, is rich in unique and distinctive taste profiles. Here's a breakdown of what they offer:
Authentic Asian-Flavored Gelato Scoops: Their primary offering. Aurelia provides a selection of dairy-based gelatos infused with popular Asian flavors. Examples include:
- Hojicha Gelato (roasted green tea from Japan)
- Thai Iced Tea Gelato (black tea leaves and spices from Thailand)
- Japanese Chocolate Gelato (rich chocolate bars from ROYCE')
- Japanese White Chocolate Gelato (rich chocolate bars from ROYCE')
- Black Milk Tea Gelato (luxurious black tea leaves from Ten Ren)
- Jasmine Green Tea Gelato (jasmine green tea leaves from Taiwan by Ten Ren)
- Banana Milk Gelato (inspired by Korean banana milk)
- White Rabbit Gelato (White Rabbit vanilla toffee candy from China)
- Genmaicha Gelato (green tea leaves with matcha powder and roasted rice from Japan)
- Vietnamese Iced Coffee Gelato (fresh roasted coffee beans by Blue Bottle)
Vegan Sorbetto Scoops: Aurelia also offers a compelling range of dairy-free and vegan-friendly sorbettos, focusing on fresh Asian fruit and beverage inspirations. Examples include:
- Korean Corn Tea Sorbetto (roasted corn tea from Korea)
- Korean Pear Sorbetto (fresh Korean pear), which customers found "super good"
- Red Dragonfruit Sorbetto (fresh red dragonfruit)
- Sikhye Sorbetto (homemade Korean sweet rice punch)
- Podo (Korean Grape) Sorbetto (fresh Korean grapes)
Fresh Pints To-Go: For those who want to enjoy Aurelia's unique flavors at home, they sell freshly packed pints. While the scoop display might have "just five flavor containers," pints offer a wider variety of flavors, allowing customers to "crush it on walk home," as one reviewer did with a pint of hojicha. Pints are typically $14.
Customizable Orders: While not explicitly stated as "sundaes," the concept of choosing multiple scoops (e.g., "Two scoops $11") allows for personal flavor combinations, like the successful pairing of Korean pear sorbet and genmaicha.

Aurelia's distinctive approach to frozen desserts, combined with its location, creates several key highlights that make it a notable spot in NYC:
Authentic Asian Flavor Focus: This is Aurelia's most significant distinguishing feature. Unlike typical ice cream shops, Aurelia specializes in "really Asian and cool" flavors like Genmaicha, Hojicha, Jasmine Green Tea, Korean Pear, and White Rabbit. This commitment to authentic Asian taste profiles sets it apart and attracts those seeking something beyond the ordinary. Customers confirm the "flavor is very on point!"
High-Quality Ingredients: The menu explicitly states that both gelato and sorbetto are "made with whole ingredients." They use specific, premium components like "roasted green tea leaves from Japan," "black tea leaves from China by Ten Ren," and "rich chocolate bars from Japan by ROYCE'," indicating a commitment to quality and genuine flavor.
Excellent Vegan Sorbetto Options: Aurelia offers a robust selection of "Dairy-free & vegan-friendly" sorbettos. This ensures that a wide range of customers can enjoy their unique flavors, making it an inclusive dessert destination. Customers found the "Korean pear sorbet... super good."
Cozy, "Deli" Atmosphere: The setting within a "little deli" creates a charming, intimate, and perhaps unexpected experience. While it's a small space, it contributes to its "cute little shop" ambiance, making it feel like a discovered gem.
Friendly Staff: Positive customer experiences include praise for the "very nice" staff, indicating good customer service which always enhances a visit, especially in a busy area like Midtown.
Pint Availability for Wider Selection: While the number of scoopable flavors might be limited at any given time (e.g., "just five flavor containers"), the availability of pints offers a broader range of flavors. This allows customers to explore more options and enjoy them at home, appealing to those who appreciate variety.
Transparent Pricing (with some caveats): Prices are generally clear, with single scoops at $8 and pints at $14. However, one customer noted a "hefty forced tax of $3.42??" on a $14 pint, plus a tip screen, which caused confusion regarding the final cost for a pint. This suggests an area where clarity in pricing, particularly regarding taxes, could improve the customer experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It’s a Japanese gelato place in a little deli! The flavors are really Asian and cool, I got jasmine green tea and genmaicha, flavor is very on point!Staff is very nice, recommended!!
July 16 · Samantha YuanCute little shop! They don’t have many flavors for scoop ice cream - they just have five flavor containers, but they sell pints for $14 (plus a hefty forced tax of $3.42?? bc there was also a screen for tip??) for more flavors! (Two scoops $11)Tried the Korean pear sorbet and genmaicha (both super good) and ended up getting a pint of hojicha and crushing it on my walk home
June 07 · Grace ParkAlthough I was super excited to try out their unique gelato flavors, I was super disappointed. It seems like the gelato section of the deli was just an afterthought. I tried both the Thai iced tea flavor and hojicha flavor. Both were underwhelming. The Thai iced tea flavor was way too sweet, and the hojicha flavor was very mild. Overall the texture of both gelatos were icey instead of creamy, and tasted cheap. I would not go back.
April 28 · Isa RodriguezTried the Korean pear flavour which was made with just pear and sugar, was great but slightly on the sweeter side for my liking. They also have other interesting Asian inspired flavours.
June 07 · Hayley LamGreat collection of asian flavors that are hard to find in the city! My favorite was black milk tea. Soooo goood and perfect level of sweetness!
