★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I really wanted to like Dairy Crest — we don't have many local ice cream spots, and it's great to see a new one pop up. But after two visits, I'm left pretty disappointed. I'm originally from an area with a lot of great ice cream shops, so maybe my expectations are shaped by that — but even taking that into account, the portion sizes here feel really off.The first time I went, I ordered a medium, which felt pretty small. So next time I ordered a large, hoping to get a more satisfying portion. What I got was basically the same amount of ice cream as before, just in a larger cone. When I asked about it, the staff confirmed it was the large. I let it go that time, thinking maybe it was a one-off mistake. But I went back today and the exact same thing happened again. Paid for a large, got two or three swirls of soft serve — which is more like what you'd expect from a medium or even a small in most other places. I’ve been to shops where sizes are clearly defined by the number of swirls or weight. By those standards, this “large” really doesn’t measure up.I’m not sure if this is just how they portion their cones or if it was careless staff both times — but either way, as a paying customer, it’s frustrating to feel like I’m not getting what I paid for. I really hope they reconsider how they portion out their sizes, because I want to support local businesses, but right now I’m not getting value for my money.Ive attached a photo of another Ice Cream shop I go to's sizes for reference.
May 30 · chris burnettI just tried this place last week and have been here 3x, so that should tell you something!1st time I got a hot mocha latte and an iced extreme mocha with a hot pretzel. All delicious. The 2nd time we got coffee and breakfast. We ordered two iced extreme mochas, and the 3 egg, with bacon and 2 English muffins to split. They had English muffins on the menu but didn't actually have English muffins, so we got toast instead. Food came out with lots of butter and jelly packets and the eggs were cooked perfectly! Over medium is hard to get right, cause I hate jiggly whites but love runny yolks, so these were great. The owner or manager came out and chatted with me about the English muffin thing and apologized, and told me about some plans they had for the location, and everything sounds great! The next time we got iced extreme mochas and a hot pretzel. Delicious again. I think it's going to be our thing.Definitely give them a try. I'm excited to explore more menu items.
April 07 · Ashleigh SandersSince switching owners to the Bean Haus, this spot seems much better. Opening early for coffee is a great move, and I'm only a short walk away, so I've made this a regular stop. The coffee selection is solid and the five-dollar burger is great, though one time I ordered it they forgot to add the toppings.Oh yeah, they have ice cream too. Classic soft-serve.I'm always excited to stop here, though a couple times I've walked by around noon and it looked like they were closed (no lights, walk-up windows covered up) so that was confusing.Overall, seems great for what it is, and a nice local spot to support, but a little inconsistent.
July 02 · Tyler WengerdI ordered a small float with barqs red cream soda and vanilla soft serve. It was delicious but not enough ice cream was added to it. I also ordered a large vanilla ice cream with cherry dip and sprinkles for my boyfriend but they gave me chocolate ice cream with cherry dip and no sprinkles. He said he liked it but I thought it was gross and the fact that I clearly said what I wanted for his ice cream and they didn’t listen is bad customer service. They were also out of waffle cones which is what he wanted so I had to get him a cake cone. I might return here but only for my float and next time I’m gonna make sure I make it clear to make it exactly how I want it.
May 01 · Jacinda BlumHuge change in selection - the menu has to have quadrupled in size, so many things to choose from. Still my favorite - Large Vanilla Malt! Recommend hitting them up for a Breakfast Burrito on your way into work.
