MUSEUM OF ICE CREAM Introduce
For those seeking a departure from the traditional and an experience that ignites the senses, the MUSEUM OF ICE CREAM in Chicago is a vibrant and whimsical destination unlike any other. Situated in the heart of the Magnificent Mile, this attraction is less of a museum in the classic sense and more of an "experium," as its creators call it. It's an immersive, multi-sensory journey designed to celebrate the joy and creativity of ice cream. From the moment you step through its bright pink doors, you are transported into a world of color, imagination, and, most importantly, delicious treats.
The MUSEUM OF ICE CREAM is a place where fun and nostalgia collide. While some reviewers have noted that the experience can be quick and may not be worth the price for everyone, especially for those looking for a traditional museum experience, many others have found it to be a delightful and memorable outing. Customer reviews show a clear split in opinion; some find it to be a "huge disappointment" and "not worth the money," while others describe it as "so much fun" and a place where they "thoroughly enjoyed the museum." This seems to suggest that the experience is highly dependent on expectations. The primary appeal lies in its interactive installations and photo opportunities, making it a hotspot for social media enthusiasts and families with young children. The promise of "unlimited ice cream" is a major draw, even if the number of flavors available for tasting is limited to a handful of rotating options throughout the tour.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1SAVE YOUR $$$$, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME⌚️Lots of pictures, but a huge disappointment. In and out in 20 minutes. Not worth the money: Museum of Ice Cream. Some interesting facts (that you could Google), limited "unlimited" ice cream to about 8 flavors. The most interesting finds: grape nuts and halva ice cream ideas that I may have to try, and hot dog flavored ice cream was weird, but tasty. Service was good. Misleading in "unlimited" flavors when there were about 8 flavors offered throughout the museum, with only another 8 flavors offered at the pay-for scoop counter.I would only recommend this to those with children, ages 8 or younger. 👎🏼👎🏼
July 12 · Simply Mama D'sMy family and I thoroughly enjoyed the museum. We visited around 3:30 and purchased tickets in advance which were slightly discounted. The employees were friendly. It was so much fun to taste the different flavors and engage in the different activities. You could eat as much ice cream as your heart desires. The sprinkle pool was so much fun for kids and adults. I would definitely recommend it for a visit.
July 16 · NaRose DesignsSmall but fun. My husband and son love ice cream. They have 5 stations with different ice creams to try. Some activities through out the different rooms. Definitely good for smaller kids. Ice cream stations are all you can eat.The price was a little high for the size/time of the experience. Some of the flavors are strange but fun!FYI I would suggest making a reservation, we did and I saw many people being turned away. Also some times are less expensive than others so you can plan and budget
April 15 · sportsmansmallThe museum was so cute and the ice cream was delicious. Cool interactive rooms and a great, friendly staff! The self guided tour is explained before you venture off. Many cool facts about the frozen treat world. I would love to go again but prices of tickets are a little high for the experience. I'd have bought gift shop items if I didn't spend so much just to enter. Other than that, the experience was very positive and I'd recommend checking it out! Tried the hot dog ice cream, which wasn't too bad! Maybe next time though, I'd omit the mustard lol I think maybe you'll enjoy this museum more if you're generally not a miserable person. We went as a childless couple and had a good time.
April 13 · Cristina MarieOverall, there are about six interactive rooms with about nine different flavors you can try. The introduction occurs in a train-like "room" with cool screens. The train-like room is where we can get the dippin dots. All the rooms including the ice cream bar in the middle of the building are very vibrant and colorful. The first room had a pink vanilla flavor (on a cone). The miniature golf room had ice cream in a hot dog bun with relish and mustard. All other rooms had ice cream flavors in a cup. In total, I think there were nine different flavor types to try. The high price of the general admission tickets makes the visit to this museum not worth it. $40/ticket for the experience is overpriced. I don't think the experience is worth more than about $20 at most. The sprinkle room included a large "pool" of plastic sprinkles which the kids spent the most amount of time in. The entire experience probably takes not more than about 60 minutes. This is not a place I would visit again.
