The Bus Stop Introduce
For those seeking a truly unique and delightful outing in rural Maryland, The Bus Stop in Upperco offers far more than your average ice cream shop. Located at 15513 Hanover Pike, this charming spot has quickly become a beloved destination, known for its creative frozen treats and its integration into a larger, family-friendly environment. It's a place where you can road trip for ice cream and leave feeling completely satisfied, having enjoyed not just delicious sweets but also a broader, engaging experience.

The Bus Stop is conveniently located at 15513 Hanover Pike, Upperco, MD 21155, USA. Hanover Pike (MD Route 30) is a well-known road that winds through the picturesque countryside of northern Baltimore County. This location makes The Bus Stop easily accessible for residents of Upperco, Hampstead, Reisterstown, Finksburg, and other surrounding communities, as well as for those taking a scenic drive through the area.
A significant aspect of The Bus Stop's location is that it's "located at a small market," which is Spring Meadow Farms. This integration means visitors have access to more than just ice cream; they can also "take time to shop" at the market, which includes a garden center, produce market, and even a BBQ stand. Furthermore, a major draw for families is the presence of a "petting zoo" and a "Farm Zoo & Nature Trail," providing additional entertainment and making the location a full-day destination rather than just a quick stop. Parking is generally ample at such farm market locations, accommodating the flow of visitors. The combined offerings at this single location significantly enhance its accessibility and appeal, encouraging longer, more enriching visits. Its rural setting provides a refreshing escape from urban bustle, making the "road trip for ice cream" a worthwhile adventure for many Marylanders.

The Bus Stop offers a comprehensive menu of frozen treats and beverages, designed to cater to a wide range of tastes and preferences. Their offerings extend beyond typical ice cream shop fare, creating a truly unique experience:
- Hand-Dipped Ice Cream: They serve rich and creamy hand-dipped ice cream, featuring both Hershey's and local Windy Knoll Dairy options. Available in single scoops, doubles, pints, and quarts, including NSA (No Sugar Added) Chocolate.
- Soft Serve Ice Cream: Classic soft serve in vanilla, chocolate, and twist flavors, allowing customers to add toppings as they wish.
- Extreme Milkshakes: A signature highlight, these over-the-top milkshakes are "delicious, thick and creamy!" and often come with themed toppings. They are frequently a "Summer special" and sometimes allow customers to "keep the glass!" Flavors can change monthly, like Oreo Extreme, Choc PB, and Seaside.
- Regular Milkshakes: Standard milkshakes are also available for those preferring a less "extreme" but equally delicious blended treat.
- Sundaes: A variety of sundaes including classic options like Hot Fudge, Caramel, Butterscotch, S'mores, Chocolate Sauce, Pineapple, Peanut Butter, and Fresh Strawberry.
- Banana Splits: Available with both soft serve and hand-dipped ice cream, drizzled with hot fudge, pineapple, strawberries, whipped cream, and cherries.
- Flurries: Ice cream blended with a choice of toppings, available with chocolate, vanilla, or twist ice cream.
- Snowballs: A refreshing alternative to ice cream, with a wide selection of flavors. Customers can choose single flavors, "blended snowballs" (multiple flavors mixed), or "half & half snowballs" (flavors kept separate). While most are well-received, one review noted a particular issue with the blueberry syrup and marshmallow topping.
- Lollipops: A unique layered treat combining soft serve, snowball, soft serve, snowball, and soft serve in a cup or cone.
- Acai/Pitaya Bowls: Partnering with Cream Cruiser, they offer healthy and refreshing acai and pitaya bowls, blended into an ice cream-like base and customizable with toppings like granola, fruits, coconut flakes, and honey.
- Food Options: Beyond desserts, "there is also food options," including "Char'd Barbecue" located at the same Spring Meadow Farms.
- Petting Zoo Access: While not a "service" in the traditional sense, being located at Spring Meadow Farms means patrons have access to a farm zoo and nature trail, adding to the overall family experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Did we road trip for ice cream? Sure did and I am glad we did! I enjoy finding little spots and this one did not disappoint. They have a large menu. We opted for milkshakes. I opted for an extreme milkshake. Summer special but you get to keep the glass! The milkshakes were all delicious, thick and creamy! The spot is located at a small market so take time to shop. There is also food options. Guess what they have a petting zoo!
July 12 · Amanda Heisey-Gallagher (Mah)We like most of the ice cream and snowballs from the bus stop and the service is good. I would stay away from the blueberry snowball syrup, it tastes like someone poured a bottle of perfume on the ice. The marshmallow snowball topping is also way too thin and just dissolves into the ice.
July 13 · Michele22Great fun place for a day trip to get away and enjoy great pulled Pork barbecue. The ice cream shop has some tasty choices. You have to check out their garden nursery shop. I didn't know there are flowers that Deer DO NOT eat! They have it here!
April 29 · Gary W Ballard (Radio Trainman)So the extreme milkshakes are fun for a picture, but they aren't really good. They're very watery as in too much milk, very little ice cream and they are way too sugary so we made that mistake. But we tried a few of the ice cream they have sourced somewhere from PA? Not hersheys the other i can't remember but it was honestly SO good. The texture was out of this world so we'd be back for that and that only. The people working there were great!
April 05 · Brooke GregaWent to The Bus Stop based on an online article. Atmosphere is very family oriented. Picnic tables set up everywhere to sit. Ended up going at a busy time (3pm) on a Saturday so it took a while to get ice cream. Ice cream looked great and tasted good. Atmosphere was a 3 because there was no set line to order and people had a tendency to stand right in front of the pick up window to wait which caused some flow problems. Bees were everywhere on this day which always makes me nervous. Attached to a cute greenhouse with handmade items and fall plants. It was an hour drive so probably not going to be a regular but it's definitely worth a visit.
