The story of Toby's Homemade Ice Cream is a classic tale of passion turning into a successful local business. From selling ice cream at local fairs to opening a permanent storefront, Toby and his wife Monina have built a brand that prioritizes quality and community. Although they've expanded and now outsource the ice cream production to a partner in Gaithersburg, they still use Toby's original recipes, ensuring the product maintains its homemade feel and exceptional taste. This commitment to maintaining the original recipes and high standards is what makes their ice cream so popular. As one customer noted in a recent review, the Ube and Salted Caramel flavors were "fantastic," and another praised the "fresh and delicious" strawberry milkshake. The shop also offers a range of unique and exotic flavors, such as Philippine Mango and Espresso Chip, alongside classic favorites like Oreo and Vanilla Bean. This variety ensures that there is a flavor for every palate. The atmosphere of the shop is also a key highlight. While it may not have extensive indoor seating, a customer review points out that there are "a ton of spots outside to sit and enjoy" the ice cream on a nice day. The staff is consistently described as "friendly and welcoming," with one reviewer mentioning how helpful a staff member was in recommending flavors and even allowing them to get half-scoops to try more options. This combination of a high-quality product, a friendly environment, and a focus on customer experience is what makes Toby's Homemade Ice Cream a cherished part of the Arlington community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Convenient spot in met park to grab ice cream! I haven’t had Toby’s before but I loved my Oreo ice cream! I also tried a strawberry milkshake which tasted fresh and delicious. Not much seating inside, but if it’s nice enough there’s a ton of spots outside to sit and enjoy!
May 04 · Anushka MMay 2025. Wow delicious! The salted caramel and ube ice cream were fantastic. They are also open late, till 10 pm most of the time.
May 09 · Steve HVibe: Warm weather icecream spot for a quick treat!Food: Icecream is not going to break your world, but it’s a nice cool treat on a warm day.Service: Satisfactory - minimum wage servers give minimum service. But no complaintsBathroom: None!
September 15 · SpencerWe dropped here because they just opened up and it was a hot day so time for an ice cream break. We all got shakes, Oreos, Ube, Banana, and Chocolate to test out each flavor and get a good sampling of their ice cream.First of all, we feel the price is cheaper than other competitors around this area which is good for a milkshake that can get expensive. The employees are nice, and made our shakes with care.We saw several kids customers but they serve them friendly, so as they mention, we feel they are a really friendly neighborhood 😊They have a little table and 2 stools inside, but there are long benches and tables outside, so you can find your spot to finish your ice cream or shake without having to walk around or stand hotdog vender style hoping not to drop anything on your shirt. The shakes were good especially the Ube and Banana flavors. The chocolate and Oreos were standard so still a good bet if you are indecisive or want something stable. They have an average selection of flavors with some more unique and others more safe. So it is easy to get something for everyone. They also have cones and toppings but if you want either make sure you tell them first when ordering as there was a little sign. It makes it easier for them to work with specific requests i guess. There is a playground for kids and a dog park.On Saturday they have a farmer's market in this area, so if you live or stop around the area I would recommend to stop by.
September 15 · Treasure IslandThis is a super great Ice Cream Parlor in the middle of Arlington Heights apartment complex. Great flavor options, friendly service, reasonable prices. I ordered their Peach flavor in a cup with some toppings. Would go here again 10/10, check it out if you're in the area!
