---Zala’s Rolled Ice Cream offers a distinct range of services and products that set it apart from traditional ice cream parlors. Their focus is on delivering a fresh, personalized, and engaging ice cream experience.
Rolled Ice Cream (Stir-Fried Ice Cream): The signature offering at Zala’s is its rolled ice cream, also known as "stir-fried" ice cream. This unique preparation method involves pouring liquid ice cream base onto a super-cooled pan, mixing in chosen ingredients, and then skillfully spreading and scraping the mixture into delicate rolls. This process is not only fascinating to watch but also results in a wonderfully creamy texture and allows for a deep integration of flavors.
Excellent Choice of Flavors: Customers consistently rave about the extensive selection of flavors available at Zala's. They reportedly boast around 90 flavors in total, which are rotated every three to four months to keep the menu fresh and exciting. This wide variety ensures that there's always something new to try and caters to every palate, from classic chocolate and vanilla to more adventurous combinations like Nutella, Cheesecake, S'Mores, and even "Cookie Monster" which features cookie dough pieces mixed directly into the ice cream.
Customizable Creations: The rolled ice cream process inherently allows for high customization. Customers can choose their base flavor and then select various mix-ins, such as Oreo crumbles, that are incorporated directly into the ice cream as it's being made. After the rolls are formed, a diverse range of decorative and tasty toppings, including chocolate syrup, whole cookies, and more, are added to complete the dish. This interactive element makes each order a bespoke creation.
Frappes: In addition to rolled ice cream, Zala's also offers frappes. These blended beverages provide another delicious option for customers, made with mostly natural ingredients before toppings like whipped cream, syrups, and other embellishments are added. This expands their dessert menu beyond just ice cream.
Creamy Limbers: For those looking for a quick, pre-made frozen treat, Zala's offers creamy limbers. These Puerto Rican frozen desserts are a convenient alternative for customers who might be in a hurry and want to skip the approximately five-minute wait time associated with making rolled ice cream.
Several distinctive features and highlights make Zala’s Rolled Ice Cream a truly special place in the Lebanon community and beyond. These elements contribute to its unique appeal and why it consistently receives positive feedback.
Engaging Preparation Process: One of the biggest draws of Zala’s is the captivating process of watching the rolled ice cream being made. Each dish takes about five minutes to prepare, as the liquid base is transformed into solid rolls on a cold pan, with ingredients mixed in and toppings artfully added. This "live" creation is a form of entertainment in itself, making the wait "worth it" as many customers attest. It’s an interactive experience that appeals to all ages.
Friendly and Attentive Staff: Customer reviews consistently highlight the exceptionally friendly staff at Zala’s. A warm welcome and helpful demeanor from the team enhance the overall experience, making customers feel valued and ensuring their visit is pleasant. The staff's willingness to engage and explain the process adds to the welcoming atmosphere.
Vibrant and Colorful Interior: The shop's interior design matches its colorful exterior, featuring a variety of bright colors that contribute to a lively and cheerful ambiance. This vibrant decor makes the space inviting and visually appealing, enhancing the fun and whimsical nature of the rolled ice cream experience.
Fresh and High-Quality Ingredients: The method of rolled ice cream allows for fresh ingredients, like cookie pieces or fruit, to be crushed and mixed directly into the ice cream base. This ensures that the flavors are deeply integrated and fresh, providing a superior taste experience. The use of mostly natural ingredients, especially for their frappes, underscores their commitment to quality.
First in the Region to Serve Rolled Ice Cream: Zala's has the distinction of being the first store in the Lebanon region to serve "stir-fried" or rolled ice cream. This pioneering spirit has established them as a unique destination for dessert lovers and a trendsetter in the local culinary scene.

September 11 · Skye GettleI've been here once and will definitely be returning!! This place makes excellent cold treats! Rolled ice cream and limber. Customer service was so so but I think it was during their first month of business. The other thing was the atmosphere. There was a family and these kids were running wild!! Harassing customers waiting for their ice cream and none of the staff said a word to them. Very uncomfortable. Take your purchase and leave unless it's empty. I was gonna leave bcuz of it but I really wanted to try their rolled ice cream. It's Definitely worth checking out and a little pricey.

November 04 · Boxcar RickHeard about this place, decided to give it a try.The store is bright and inviting, could use a bit more atmosphere (decor), but it's good enough. We got some Oreo ice cream, Fruity Pebbles ice cream, Nutella ice cream, and a Nutella frappe. Everyone was happy and loved it. It stayed cold throughout the entire cup. No melty mess at the end.I recommend stopping here, perfect for a frozen treat and it's cool to watch how it's made.I'm happy to see more unique and family run businesses in Lebanon.
